Why people love hiking Angels Landing?
People go for hiking to comfort themselves, to forget all the tensions, and get close to nature. This is what Angels Landing provides them, a place that helps them forget all their worries. You can start the journey from the bridge situated across the road of Grotto Picnic Area.
The first section of the hike is the west rim trail, it’s a two miles hike. This uphill climb leads to the Refrigerator Canyon. It’s the best place for you if you want to catch your breath as it’s the only shady place.
Next up are 21 switchbacks called Walter’s Wiggles. It’s a short part of the hike but gives your rapid elevation.
The Wiggles will get you on top of the ridge, at Scout Lookout. Scouts Lookout gives you a brilliant view and you get your first look at the ridge to the south.
By just looking at it you will understand how difficult the next part of the hike is going to be as you will have to climb 500 feet. At Scout Lookout, restrooms are available, but no water for drinking.
The last half-mile of the hike is where things get really interesting. The trail is just a few feet wide and you have to take help of the chains to walk through it.
